INSPIRATION Shannon and I searched for a natural, vegan and cruelty-free skincare collection that was not only effective, yet also looked beautiful on the bathroom shelf. We wanted a product that utilised the finest ingredients, free from animal products and animal testing, environmentally friendly, used less plastic but was also classy and shelfie worthy, a range of products that would make skincare fun rather than a chore!
RESET Life gets hectic and I like to tune out for a bit. I’ll put my phone away, have a hot shower and just chill out with my dogs reading a book. If I’m up for the drive you’ll find me on the beach relaxing on the sand listening to the waves crash. My mind is constantly on the go, I really need to make a conscious effort to just tune out by removing distractions such a technology and just relaxing with my own company.
INDULGE In an ideal world I would LOVE a really long hot shower, but being conscious of the environment, I’ll stick to a nice super hot bath with some relaxing music in the background. Hair mask in, cleanse and exfoliate my face, do a few masks over the course of a day to clear out my pores and moisturise! I’ve really started enjoying massages to get rid of the tension in my shoulders and back. Followed by a light plant based meal. If it were closer I’d go to a retreat in Ubud, Bali, because that’s idyllic but there’s an amazing day retreat in Murwillumbah called The Kiva Spa where you go to let go, to drop into stillness and relax.
WINTER BEAUTY ESSENTIAL A good moisturiser (I use Luna Vitality by RAWKANVAS and Yester Youth Facial Oil). When the air outside is cold and dry, the water in your skin evaporates more quickly, making your skin feel dry and tight, and makes it look flaky. A creamy moisturiser and facial oil can turn that flakiness back to glowing skin.
WINTER WARMERS I originally come from Russia, so you’d think I’m made for the winter, but I live in Queensland and to be honest, I’m more of a summer girl. In winter I really enjoy making soups heavy on veggies to get my intake of vitamins and water. In summer I’m great at drinking water and keeping hydrated and in winter I consumed water in the form of soup and copious amount of herbal teas.
